About Me

We all know that times today carries many hardships one of which is keeping your best friend with you when you must leave your home. Rex and another shepherd thought they were their owners best friends until the owner moved and took both of the shepherds to the Shelter. Normally, German Shepherds are adopted quickly but in Rex's case, it may not be the case. The reason? Rex is 10 years old. His owner fattened him up and now surrendered him. Rex needs to loose quite a few pounds but that's not his biggest problem. Rex needs a forever companion for the rest of his senior years. He is a very gently guy who walks great on a leash. All he needs is warm, loving home. His owner said he was playful but that has not been seen yet. He's such a great boy. Can you give Rex love and that forever home?

Hi Christina,

I know that you do mainly Lab rescue but I know that you do know a lot of other rescues in Florida so I was wondering, if you could forward this onto a German Shepherd or a other rescue who can possibly pull this poor Senior Male German Shepherd at the Flagler Humane Society in Palm Coast.  He is just so obese and is a senior so his chances are most likely slim that he'll get adopted which is so heartbreaking as it is "Adopt a Senior Month".  He really needs to lose weight and needs some TLC and exercise.   He looks like such a sweet boy and it'd be so sad for him to spend the rest of the time he has in a shelter.

I'd really appreciate it!

Thank you,

He is NOT a mix.  Someone entered him incorrectly at Petfinder, a mistake that could cost him his life.
