Here's some good news.  This is the latest photo of the white German Shepherd we pulled from the kill room at Sebring.  He is seen in these photos in his new home.  If you recall, his new mom named him Sebring.  I'd say he is one lucky, loved pup

URGENT: Bradford County Animal Shelter... PLEASE CROSS POST THESE

Need urgent help with two wonderful dogs. Both are scheduled to be euthanized this week and both are gentle, calm animals that would make perfect pets. The first is Nick, a sweet tan-and-white male who is neutered already. He is so calm and docile, he would make a perfect rescue. The second is a black bulldog, Lacey. She is one of the happiest, friendliest dogs I've seen. Absolutely sweet. Both are favorites of shelter staff so they've been held for quite a few weeks but their time is now up. Can someone please help to rescue these very worthy dogs. Yes, there are other good dogs there as well, but these two have special personalities. The owners do not care for the dogs and will be getting rid of them in the next two weeks. He told me he will be driving them out into a no-man's land, drop them and leave them there. He keeps the dogs in their cages, inside the garage, 24/7 - day and night, rain or shine. They come out for a few minutes to do their business, and back into the garage cages they go. They are two females. Bella and Sophie. They were bought when puppies, and this life is all they know. However, they have escaped several times during their transfer from this little area where they do their business back to the garage. At that time, they run free and happy and dive into the different small lakes of our community. I recently got permission to walk them whenever I can. With me they are finally learning manners -they have been neglected totally in that respect- and by now are starting to show signs of obedience. They are both about 3.5 to 4 yrs. old. Full breed Retrievers. All their vaccines up to date. Both with microchips. they have papers, but no pedigree. Are very healthy at this point. They love to run and swim. They are both very intelligent, happy when shown affection, in great need of love and attention. They eat dry Purina once a day, at night, in their cages. They are going to be discarded and left out on their own. They have grown up together since puppies. They need a loving forever home with owners that understand this type of dogs... They are very sweet. Owner will give them away with their cages. They have just a couple of weeks left before they are thrown out. Any suggestions welcomed. I am appalled and am trying to help them.

Citrus County, FL heartbreaking story Max & Milly living alone for 5 mo

Fellow Rescuers/Dog Lovers,  

I have been asked to help get the word out about Max & Dolly. They are desperately in need of a new home.  They have lost both of their parents and have been living in their home (in Citrus County, Fl.) alone for 5 months !!! They have been using a doggie door to go in and out, with only minimal care from neighbors. 

  Max and Dolly have until October when the family comes from the north to close the house to find new homes.  Please help by spreading the word about them to every dog related person that you know. Don't be afraid to share with your personal email list either. They may know someone who can help as well.   

Anyone who can donate food for Max & Dolly is appreciated by the neighbors trying to care for them. Rescue placement would be the ultimate. They are hopefull that they can find adopters for them in time.

Dolly is 7 1/2, Max is 4 1/2.  Their dad died, their mom went to a nursing home :(  They are well behaved, housebroken, and oh so lonely in the house by themselves..... they want to be part of a family again!

I am forwarding this photo as a favor for a friend.  A friend of mine found this dog outside of Riverside Elementary this morning.  The dog was carrying a little doggie backpack which contained all its toys, some food and a note from the owner.  The owner could no longer care for the dog and was asking that someone please try to find it a home.

The dog is a male, almost 3 years old, good with kids, house trained and knows some commands.  If you are interested or know of anyone who might be, let me know.

Black Lab Puppy Surrender

Hi, my name's Walker and I'm writing regarding a beautiful girl I found not long ago.  According to the neighborhood grapevine, she'd been running around for about 5 days when I rescued her from two local lowlifes who were hitting her with sticks.  She appears to be a black lab, and under 6 months by looking at her size and teeth.  We've done a lot of rescues over the years but right now, we simply can't afford in any sense to keep her.  We took temporarily took her in to avoid being sent to our local pound (obviously a kill shelter) by a neighbor, but circumstances make it impossible for us to hold on to her any longer, and we've been unable to find her a home.  She has a great disposition– puppyish but mellow in varying degrees throughout the day.  She's very affectionate and gets along famously with four other dogs.  If you run a no-kill shelter or can help place her, we would be extremely grateful, as would she.

Space Coast Sweethearts! - Kona, Pablo and Samson

The big fluffy cat with out a tail is Pablo. He is a Maine Coon/Manx mix.

Samson is a Maine Coon.

Kona is 4 years old. he is a Chocolate Lab mix.

Trying to find homes for our friends' pets--they just had a baby and think he is allergic to the cats, and they are moving and can't find a place that will take a big dog. We would take the cats if we didn't each already have a houseful!  See below:

Here are a few pics of Kona and the cats. We would prefer that the catsgo as a pair. They are really attached to each other.

inside cats all of their lives.
We will provide about a month of food and a big kitty litter bag for the
new parents.

Kona is 4 years old. he is a Chocolate Lab mix. He is lovable. good with
kids, though has at times lots of energy, He likes butt-scratches,
playing catch-the-treat and walks. We will provide a big bag of his dog
food to the new parent.
