Look at all of these sweet babies that need your help!
This shelter needs our  help! They are located far out in the country and don't have many people coming  in to adopt!! I am including info off the website below, contact  the shelter  Manager, Niki, who can be reached at 1-386-329-0396. Her email address is ncavanaugh@putnamsheriff.org .  Any rescue can email or fax at 386-326-2790 their 501 and names of people able  to pull/transport under their rescue. I do have a transport network I can refer  rescuers to if needed. 
There is no pull  fee for rescues!!!!
NEEDS: The shelter  needs donations of canned dog/cat food, linoleum to use for a donated building  to open a cat adoption room, housing for horses-something like a 2-stall barn or  carports, donated fencing for horses for a round pen, and would love to have a  large sign to put out on hwy 17 so that people would know of their location.  Volunteers such as vet techs, community service workers, or others wanting to  bathe, brush dogs etc.  (under 18 with parental permission), please contact  Niki! 
Directions;  Shelter adoption  hours are 1:00-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday and 10:00am-4:00pm on Saturdays. Please  visit us personally to see all the wonderful animals currently housed at the  shelter. If you are interested in adopting an animal please call 386-329-0399 --  If no one answers please leave a message and the shelter staff will return your  call as soon as possible. Or, you may send an email to: putnamanimals@yahoo.com  . The Putnam  County Animal Services shelter is located at 174 County Landfill Rd. Palatka FL 32177. Driving north on SR17 from  Palatka, cross Rice Creek Bridge, turn left at the traffic light by the  Crossroads Saloon and follow signs to the shelter. Driving south on SR17 from  Green Cove Springs/Bostwick, turn right at the first traffic light and follow  signs to the shelter. 
For  Adoption;The cost at  adoption is $55 for a male dog and $65 for a female dog, $40 for a male cat and  $50 for a female cat. This includes the cost of spay/neuter, rabies vaccination  and tag (non-residents will be required to register the animal and obtain a tag  from their county of residence) and a $5 adoption fee. At the time of adoption,  shelter staff will contact the veterinarian's office and schedule a surgery  appointment. Your new pet will stay at the shelter until the day of surgery when  an Animal Services officer will transport the animal to the vet. You will be  able to pick up your new pet from the vet's office that same evening between  4:00 and 5:00.
